Great Local Businesses to Support This Season

Great Local Businesses to Support This Season

Unless you’ve been under a rock this year (lucky!), you’ve been sure to notice the struggle that some of our beloved community shops, restaurants and services have undergone. We thought we’d take a break from the real estate market, and give you some local insight on some of our favorite local spots to support this season, whether you’re local, second homeowner, or visiting, we hope you find something useful here!

Red Buffalo Cafe

Red Buffalo is a community oriented coffee and tea house that seeks to provide exceptional service and quality products to Summit County’s residents and visitors. They absolutely deliver on this mission! Having just celebrated 10 years in business, we would absolutely call this wonderful establishment a Silverthorne staple. Some of our favorites: the lemongrass rose tea, the (house made) lavender & honey latte, and the avocado toast.

Sauce on the Blue

One of our favorite local dining options, this little gem has been tucked away near the Silverthorne Pavillion (just down the way from Red Buffalo!) for 5 years now. Serving up traditional Italian fare with an IMPRESSIVE wine and cocktail list, this is a great place to spruce yourselves up & enjoy a night out.

Angry James / Cultivate Cafe

Our favorite brewery, hands down. AJ’s commitment to craft beer + the friendly staff and cool setting make this fairly new establishment feel like they’ve been part of the community for years and years. Inside Angry James lives Cultivate Cafe, providing “off beet local eats”, deliciously healthy options that will entice your taste buds whether you’re having a bratwurst or a vegetarian noodle bowl.

Alpine Earth Gardens / Minimal Impact

Alpine Gardens is a greenhouse specializing in high alpine annual and perennial plants as well as indoor plants and outdoor flower baskets. With a big focus on sustainable and eco friendly gardening practices. Sherry is such a kind and helpful soul, and will always be able to offer advice on a new plant or gift for a loved one. Minimal Impact is a new addition to Alpine Gardens, and something so wonderful to have added to our community. They provide all sorts of materials to assist in a sustainable lifestyle, from self care products to cleaning supplies, to educational tools aimed at helping to adapt a greener lifestyle!

Located in River Run Village near the base of the gondola, inxpot is the best stop in Keystone for a hot drink, breakfast, lunch and happy hour! Some of our favorites: the independence bowl with a cinnamon roll latte.

A&A Pet Supply

If you’ve got furry friends, this is THE place to go in Summit County. Operating since 2006, with a name change in 2012, A&A not only has the largest, best and most unique supply of pet supplies, they also have the friendliest and most knowledgable staff. From elk antlers & outdoor gear to premium food options, they have what you never even knew you needed for your pets.

Tavern West

A fairly new addition to Frisco, and just slightly down the way on Main Street, Tavern West offers the dining experience trifecta: authentic, farm-fresh food, seasonally rotating craft beers, and an upscale mountain atmosphere. Fancy enough for a night out, affordable enough for a quick bite.

Ein Prosit

An authentic beer hall located in the heart of Frisco Main street, we absolutely love this quaint little establishment with their traditional bavarian and belgian beers and eclectic mix of sausages.  Don’t forget to check out Frisco’s most unique little gift shop right next door: The Frisco Emporium, full of trinkets, jewelry, cards, collectibles, and SO MANY fun little items.

Next Page Books & Nosh

So much more than a bookstore, this charming establishment strives to keep their focus on the traditional strengths of an independent bookseller - a great selection of books, personalized and friendly service, a knowledgeable staff, and a deep commitment to the community that we serve. They also offer locally crafted items, and an impressive little tea and coffee shop.

Rivers Clothing

In the yoga studio, on the trail, traveling abroad, locked up in the office or hanging at happy hour, Rivers Clothing Company believes you should look and feel good in your clothes. Their shop is filled with durable men’s and women’s mountain wear from boutique-focused brands. Check it out on Frisco Main Street!

Blue River Bistro

The Blue River Bistro is al lively, eclectic-American restaurant that features fresh ingredients inspired by seasonal progression, and is accompanied by hand-crafted cocktails and artisanal wines. The vibe is typically set with jazz or other local musicians, and their double happy hour has no competition! 2 for 1 appetizers + martinis, from 2-4 PM or after 9PM? So good.

Cool River Coffee

Some of the best coffee, eats & service in Breckenridge, we love stopping by Cool River anytime throughout the day! Owner Diane Burris has curated the menu with hip, modern dishes and traditional delectable sweet treats that will all make your mouth water. Our favorite: CBD coffee + local burrito

Marigold’s Farmhouse Funk & Junk

This place is an ever-changing stash of antiques + locally made items. From funky accessories and clothing to hand-drawn post cards and hand-crafted jewelry, it’s always an experience in Marigold’s.

We hope that this list can help you find something or someone to give your support to this season, whether you’re grabbing takeout, shopping for a last minute holiday gift, or want to treat yourself! Supporting local businesses is ALWAYS important, but this rings true now more than ever. Whatever we support within our community now will have the ability and endurance to last in the future - and that’s what community is all about!
